Last Day

Well its bitter sweet, today is the last day in Idaho. Weird to think I've been here for four years, but I guess all good things come to an end. Its just strange knowing that really after today my life will never be the same (Wow that sounds depressing). Actually I'm excited, how many opportunities come like this? I'm trying to make the most of this entire experience, although my motivation is still lacking.

But since most of you are reading this because of the my Europe Trip I suppose I should tell you everything I've been doing to prepare!
For the past two weeks I have been doing "intensive" study courses to prepare. In reality they have been incredibly simple but incredibly fun and interesting (for the most part). I took three classes, one from each of the professors going, Western Religion, Humanities travel study and art. The travel courses are basically self taught, I decide a subject and research it. For the Humanities course I will be researching the influences of humanism during the Enlightenment and Renaissance throughout Europe. My topic was inspired from my Sr. Seminar last semester and my Renaissance and Reformation courses from last year. I love being in class and knowing the stories and impact of many of the places we are visiting, make this trip so much more personal for me. I know that this would probably bore most of you to tears, but I'm ecstatic.

Tomorrow we are leaving for Provo, and then on Monday I have to be at the airport at 6am (YIKES) to fly to Paris!  But just to give everyone a taste of some of what I will get to see here are some of the places we will be going in Paris.

Orsay museum

Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral

The Louvre

and hopefully we will make it to Versailles

Hopefully I'll be able to post more pictures of what I actually get to see.

I'm hoping to update the blog while I am overseas, but no promises!

  1. Carissa, looking forward to hearing about your journey to Europe. Have a wonderful time, take a lot of pictures and be safe. Most important, stay with a group of your friends. We know that you have probably been reminded of that about a thousand times. Make this 1001 and have fun anyway. Jim and Pat
